Hello! I’m Katara!

I’m a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern in the State of Florida. I have been practicing in the field for the past five years as I continue to seek licensure. My greatest passion is bringing healing to those who have been through traumatic/stressful experiences.

I have worked with adults and families within both the child welfare and court sectors to help find a healthy perception of themselves and strengthen their relationships with the goal of getting to know themselves as whole, complete and safe. I obtained my Bachelor of Science degree from Georgia Southern University majoring in psychology with a minor in criminal justice. I, then, went on to earn my Master of Science degree from Nova Southeastern University in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. While working towards my education, I also gained valued experience working with women and families who are survivors of domestic violence. Within that particular sector, my love for working with women of all walks and stages of life grew tremendously.

I enjoy providing care and support to those with perinatal disorders to better manage their symptoms as they learn to adjust to their “new normal”.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending quality time with my 7-year old son who is an avid lover of dinosaurs, binge-watching crime/suspense/sci-fi programs, and maintaining my self-care regiments. I strongly believe that self-care is a vital component to one’s overall well-being and I always strive to maintain a healthy balance between my many different roles.

I look forward to working with you!
